What the app is for
BAT-BMS only works with Smart Bluetooth lithium batteries that have a compatible battery management system — it's not a universal battery monitor for any phone or device. It connects over Bluetooth 5.0 (BLE, roughly 15m range) and shows state of charge, voltage, charge/discharge current, cycle life, cell voltages, and temperature.
A serious warning
The app went viral in mid-2026 over videos of people using it to mess with e-rickshaw batteries that weren't theirs. Don't do that. Connecting to someone else's battery or vehicle without permission can strand a driver who depends on it for their livelihood, creates real safety risks, and may break the law where you live. Only ever connect the app to your own batteries.
Install steps
- Open the Play Store and search "BAT-BMS" by SHENZHEN GRENERGY TECHNOLOGY CO.LTD.
- Install, open the app, and grant Bluetooth/location permissions (Bluetooth scanning needs location permission on Android).
- Keep your battery nearby, powered on, and connect from inside the app — never to a battery you don't own.
