How to Connect and Monitor Your Lithium Battery with the BAT-BMS App: A Step-by-Step Guide

Learn how to pair your Smart Bluetooth lithium battery with the BAT-BMS app, navigate the dashboard, and use advanced features like AutoBalance for optimal performance.

Getting Started with BAT-BMS

Before you begin, ensure your smartphone has Bluetooth 5.0 (BLE) enabled and that you have downloaded the official BAT-BMS app from the Apple App Store or Google Play. The app is free and requires no data collection, focusing solely on battery management.

Step 1: Pairing Your Battery

Turn on your Smart Bluetooth lithium battery. Open the BAT-BMS app and tap 'Scan' to search for nearby devices. Your battery should appear in the list with its unique ID. Tap on it to initiate pairing. If prompted, confirm the connection. The app will automatically establish a secure BLE link.

Step 2: Navigating the Dashboard

Once connected, you'll see the main dashboard displaying critical parameters: State of Charge (SOC) as a percentage, current voltage, charge/discharge current, and individual cell voltages. Swipe left or right to switch between multiple connected batteries. Each battery's data is presented in a clean, card-style layout.

Step 3: Using Advanced Features

Tap the settings icon to access advanced controls. Here you can enable 'AutoBalance' to equalize cell voltages, which is crucial for extending battery life. You can also remotely enable or disable charge/discharge functions. For troubleshooting, check the cycle life tracking and temperature readings. If you encounter connectivity issues, ensure your battery is within 10 meters of your phone and that no other app is using Bluetooth.

Tips for Optimal Performance

Regularly update the app to benefit from the latest features. If you have multiple batteries, label them in the app for easy identification. For best results, keep your battery firmware updated as recommended by the manufacturer, such as Enjoybot.
